The Police Service Commission (PSC) is expected to promote over 35 new Commissioners of Police (CPs) and 40 new Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) next week.
Investigations by Daily independent revealed that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, is expected to submit the names of the officers to the chairman of PSC, retired IGP Musiliu Smith, tomorrow.
A dependable source at the PSC in Abuja told Daily Independent on phone on Wednesday that “we have not received the names yet, but we are expecting the list of the officers any moment from the IGP”.
Also at Force Headquarters, Abuja, a source who pleaded anonymity said: “The IGP is supposed to have submitted the names since, but as you may know, he has been touring the country over security issues. Yesterday (Tuesday) he was in Kogi State. He just resumed work today (Wednesday). He is also busy putting security apparatus in place to ensure hitch-free elections in Bayesla and Kogi states.”
