Enugu State Police Command on Tuesday said its operatives have killed a notorious armed robbery suspect at Obollafor in Udenu Local Government Area of the State.
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, a Superintendent of Police, said the suspect, identified as one KC, had been a ‘thorn in the flesh’ of members of the public and had been on the wanted list of the Command over his armed robbery and kidnapping activities.
He said the suspect met his gruesome fate when Police operatives from the Udenu division raided his hideout through a well gathered and coordinated intelligence information.
“It was gathered that the suspected kingpin later identified as one KC had been a thorn in the flesh of members of the public with his gang within Obollafor and its environs.
“Following an intelligence information, their suspected hideout at Obolloafor were raided on April 7 in the evening where they engaged security operatives before they were overpowered.
“The deceased hoodlum got injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention and was later confirmed dead; while others believed to have escaped with bullet injuries are being trailed.
“Items recovered from the deceased suspect include one locally made pistol and three live cartridges,” the statement reads.
Amaraizu said the Command has commenced investigation into the incident.
