A former head of state, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has urged the National Defense College to initiate policies to enhance governance and security in the country.

He was addressing a team of participants of the National Defense College at his Hill top residence in Minna, Niger State, yesterday.

He stated: “I urged you all to articulate policies that will be beneficial to the armed forces and governments”.

General Babangida, who was the initiator of the National Defense College, said: “Our vision and concept of the National Defense College was to provide the armed forces and other security agencies the best technical and tactical manpower in the world”.

He also told his visitors that “planning will be the best way to manage Youths unemployment and idleness as well as pave way for comprehensive empowerment programmes”.

The team leader of the National Defense College, Commodore Solomon Agada, told General Babangida that the study tour to Niger State was to have first-hand information on how to address national challenges.
