The outgoing Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, has said that security challenges were responsible for the inconclusive elections recorded in the recent past.
Ezike, who said this yesterday while handing over to his successor, Fimihan Adeoye, in Benin, assured the people of the state that adequate security arrangements have been made for next Saturday’s election.
The commissioner, who was transferred to the Police College, Ikeja, as Commandant, urged his successor to implement the laid down security arrangement to ensure the success of the governorship election.
He also advised officers and men of the state command to remain professional and police with integrity.
Responding, the new commissioner promised to build on the successes recorded by his predecessor.
