Police Parades 11 Robbery, Kidnap Suspects In Cross River

The Cross River State police command on Monday paraded 11 armed robbery and kidnap suspects in Calabar.

The state’s police commissioner, Mr. Jimoh Ozi-Obeh, who disclosed this in a press briefing to review the command’s achievements so far, said the suspects were arrested in different parts of the state.

He attributed the recent feat to the grace of God and the support gotten from the public as well as sister security agencies in the state.

While soliciting more support from the public, Ozi-Obeh urged residents in the state to always constitute themselves into vigilante groups in order to complement the effort of the police.

He promised to sustain the relative peace which the state had enjoyed in the last one month, urging residents to always avail the police useful information that will aid her in the fight against crime.

“In the past one month, we have been having relative peace, crime-wise. The bad boys; God has made it possible for us to checkmate them.

“Some have repented; some have relocated to other areas that are conducive to them.  Even then, we were able to arrest like 11 suspects on attempted robbery and kidnapping cases”, he said.

The commissioner  expressed joy over the return of peace to some warring communities in the state, urging the people to continuously live together as brothers and sisters.

“For the month in review, the communal clash is equally zero.  Our people are beginning to understand themselves better and why they should live together in peace”, he added.
