A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Ismaila, was yesterday abducted in front of his residence at Abakpa area of Kaduna.
The lawmaker, who represents Tudun Wada constituency, was abducted at about 9:00 am as he came out of his house to go to his office, according to one of his aides.
Ismaila, who was accompanied to the gate by his wife as he drove out of the premises, his aide said, was accosted by some men standing outside who flagged him down as if to make some enquiries.
The police public relations officer, ASP Aliyu Usman, confirmed the incident saying investigations have commenced into the matter.
Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Aminu Abdullahi Shagali, who also confirmed, said he is not aware if the abductors have made contact with either the House or the lawmaker’s family.
