Police in Akwa Ibom state yesterday paraded a 30-year-old father, JosephIbanga, from Ibiono Ibom local government area for strangling his four year-old daughter, Gloria Ibanga, to death.
Also arrested by the police is one 30 year-old Victor Esin, from UrueOffong/Oruko local council, who macheted his 60-year-old uncle, Rev. EsinAndang to death.
Parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters at IkotAkpanAbia in Uyo, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, said that although the crime was committed at different locations within the state, the command was able to arrest them based on information given by people in the areas to the police.
According to her, the command would not rest on its oars until criminal tendencies are reduced to the barest minimum in the state, calling on residents of the state to always volunteer information to enable the command carry out its duties successfully.
The PPRO noted that, once all the necessary investigations are completed, the suspects would appear in court, warning parents to make sure that they monitor the type of friends their children and wards keep.
