The Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Police Force, Don Awunah, has stated that there is no iota of truth in a report that senior police officers protested on Tuesday at Force Headquarters Abuja over lopsided postings.
The report had stated that the officers were kicking against the decision of the new Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, to remove them from their posts after they had reported to their new places of assignment as directed by immediate past IGP, Solomon Arase.
When contacted on phone, Awunah, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, told DAILY POST that “there was nothing of such”.
“Just today, some of your colleagues (journalists) were here for a press conference which we held till late afternoon. If there was any protest, they would, of course, have reported it.
“The report is the handiwork of mischief makers against the new management.
“This is a disciplined Force; we have ways to channel our grievances, so even if there are issues, appropriate channels of communication would be used,” Awunah told our correspondent Tuesday evening.
