The Nigerian Police says it has began an investigation into the incident of brutality meted on a civilian by its men at Oyigbo in Rivers State last week. A video of the incident was posted by an eye witness on Facebook and reported by Reports Afrique News on our Youtube Channel.
The Nigerian Police via its Complaint Response Unit announced on Facebook that it has opened investigations into the issue. See screenshot of their Facebook post on the issue below:
The victim was seen abused by men of the Nigerian police while attempting to arrest him. He was beaten with iron rod and hit severally with the butt of their guns. Attempts by locals to stop the cruel beating resulted in the beating and arrest of a sympathizer who tried to stop them from beating the man.
