The Ogun State Police Command has discovered an illegal warehouse owned by foreigners, where some of the stolen goods from trucks hijacked along the major highways within Ogun State and beyond, are kept at Daguja Village, along Sagamu/Papalanto road in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The  police operatives attached to Owode Egba Division of the Command, who were investigating a case of a truck with Reg No SME 410 XG, loaded with 2,800 (two thousand, eight hundred) cartoons of Maggi, that was hijacked at Alapako along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, tracked the truck to the said warehouse where many goods suspected to have been stolen from hijacked trucks along the expressway were recovered.

The owners of the warehouse, who are from Benin Republic, Somabe Romai, and Yahaya Konie, were arrested at the warehouse and one Opel Omega car with Reg No LAGOS KTU 125 AC and the said hijacked truck were recovered.

It will be recalled that the command has recorded many cases of truck hijacking along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, which has become a worry to the command over time. But the Commissioner of  Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali ordered his Divisional Police Officers and concerned operation officers to go after the hoodlums and stop truck hijacking on the major highways in Ogun state for it’s embarrassing.

The Commissioner of Police, while commending the police operatives who discovered the warehouse, therefore directed that the case be transferred to the Special Anti Robbery Squad for proper investigation and possible arrest of other members of the syndicate since it’s an organized crime.
