Man, 42, Arraigned For Allegedly Robbing Barber’s Shop

An unemployed man, Anthony Oluwaseun, 42, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court for allegedly breaking into barber’s shop and stealing gadgets worth N80, 000.

Oluwaseun, whose address was not stated, however, denied before Magistrate Bola Olagbegi-Adelabu of having anything to do with the crime.

He claimed he was framed and thus submitted a non-guilty plea to all the four charges against him bothering on breaking and entry, stealing and burglary.

The Prosecutor, Cpl Mary Ajiteru, had earlier said the accused committed the crime on March 30 with others still at large.

“The accused conspired with others to break into the shop of one Ebofin Afolabi at No. 8 Ojota Road, Ogudu, at about 1.00 a.m.

“He and his gang, who are still at large, stole two OX standing electric fans, three hair clippers, a Sharp flat screen television, a radio set and other valuables from the shop.

“They burgled the shop and took away goods valued at N80, 000 during their criminal operation,’’ she said.

According to the prosecutor, the accused contravened Sections 409, 308, 307 and 285 (5) (e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

The magistrate, however, admitted the accused to N200, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum who must present evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

The case was adjourned to May 26 for mention. (NAN)
