The Jigawa State command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested six victims of human trafficking in one of the border towns of Nigeria/Niger republic.
The NIS state commander, Mohammed Isa Jere who addressed newsmen in Dutse, said the victims were arrested in the border town of Babura local government area of the state as they tried to move out en route Europe.
Jere who did not disclose the names of the six arrested young men, said the victims of the human trafficking hailed from Abia, Imo, and Delta states, adding that they usually used the Jigawa State border for crossing to Niger, to Libya and onward to Europe.
He said the six would be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in persons (NAPTIP) for rehabilitation.
